Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów, Poland. A habilitated doctor in social sciences, specializing in economics and finance (Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Faculty of Economics, Institute of Finance, 2021). He earned a PhD in economics at the Cracow University of Economics (Faculty of Finance, 2007). Academic lecturer and trainer at the Cisco Entrepreneur Institute (CEI). Author of courses and teaching programs in both Polish and English. Supervisor of over 300 theses in the fields of economics, finance, entrepreneurship, and management. Author of more than 150 scientific publications, reports, strategies, and expert opinions in the field of finance. His research focuses on finance, particularly the financial aspects of local public policies that support entrepreneurship, as well as public finance system. His scientific interests also institutions, financial consequences of legal regulations, and financing of emerging companies.

From 2002 to 2004, he was an employee at the Institute of Economy at UITM. Between 2013 and 2016, he served as the Head of the Department of Finance at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów (Poland), and from 2013 to 2022, Tomasz Skica was the Research and Science Director at the Institute for Financial Research and Analysis in Rzeszów (Poland). Since 2013, he has been a member of The Quality of Education Team for Polish and English-language study programs. Since 2019, he has served as a member of the UITM Senate and as a member of the Dean’s Council of the Faculty of Management at UITM.

Tomasz Skica is the Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal Financial Internet Quarterly, a member of the editorial board of Current Issues of Business and Law (Lithuania), and a member of the International Editorial Review Board of The South East European Journal of Economics and Business (Bosnia and Herzegovina). He is also a member of the Start for Future Cooperative (SFF) based in Munich, Germany. He collaborates with both domestic and international universities and research institutions. Member of scientific committees of international conferences, keynote speaker of domestic and foreign scientific events.
