Finance and Business Valuation
The major provides students with the opportunity to acquire further knowledge in corporate financial management, accounting, and other financial disciplines. Beyond these common areas, students will gain knowledge and basic skills necessary for the practice of valuation of businesses and intangible assets, including the skills to communicate with specialists in valuing the main components of business tangible assets.
Graduates of this field will thus have the comprehensive theoretical knowledge necessary to value businesses, including the knowledge of their financial management. The field therefore offers graduates relatively broad employment opportunities. They can apply these skills both in the everyday practice of corporate economists and investment banking, as well as in independent professions such as forensic experts and property appraisers specialising in business valuation, or as employees of expert organisations, real estate agencies, banks, and other institutions requiring a deeper understanding of corporate finance, business value, and its assets. Similarly focused programmes also exist at many foreign universities.
